2025 Virgin Islands Paté Festival Winners Announced Despite Blackout

The 2025 Virgin Islands Paté Festival concluded with a flavorful celebration, even as an island-wide power outage cut the final ceremony short. Organizers shared the official winners list this week, ensuring the culinary achievements were recognized despite the unexpected interruption.

Here are the winners as announced by the festival:

  • Best Seafood Paté: Bestie’z, praised for “bringing the ocean’s flavor to life in paté form.”
  • Best Meat Paté: A&E Catering, recognized for their “culinary mastery.”
  • Best Veggie Paté: A&E Catering, taking home a second title for their exceptional creations.
  • People’s Choice Award: Mrs. Rita Chiverton, honored as the “mouthwatering crowd favorite,” chosen by festival attendees. This award is named in honor of Randal Lucien James, affectionately known as “Randy Paté.”

Despite the power outage, organizers noted that the crowd’s energy and enthusiasm remained high. “Even though the lights went out, the talent and flavor STILL shined through,” they said.

The festival also extended special thanks to local sponsors for their support in making the event a success.

For those who missed the event or want to share their own paté stories, the festival encourages the community to join the conversation and celebrate the culinary talents of the Virgin Islands.
